We find our flock deep underground, making camp with a group of Svirfneblin traveling merchants. Sliver of Straw took the first watch, and made idle conversation with Basinni, learning how she and Kregluck met. Rester took the second watch, and talked with Berthmurs, learning about all of the wonderful fungi of the Underdark. Rester went so far as to even try a sample Berthmurs had on him. After their evening rest, Sliver of Straw talked with Kregluck about possibly stopping by on the flock's way back up to discuss possible trade routes. Kregluck was interested in hearing more. The flock bid the Slabnose party farewell and began to head deeper into the Underdark.

Sliver of Straw had more pressing matters though, he needed to sell the trade goods. Rughaed examined everything and decided to give up 650gp worth of Underdark trade goods and get a set of adamantine splint armor refitted for flying if the flock dealt with this monster. Rester, after his experience with the fungi of indeterminate origin, decided to see what Rughaed might have to offer. He learned of Basilisk Tonsils and the Breath of Glob. Rester saw his way to make some coin and bought some of both. Looking into the city, they saw some movement at the far edge of what they could see and made a plan to lure it into the light for a better look. It turned out to be a rust monster. Not wanting to deal with the rust monsters within the city, the flock flew over the buildings to a more open area within the city. Hiding behind some nearby buildings, they managed to spot the creature they had been hearing about. Not nearly as big as they were expecting, they heard the mad musings of a Spectator, one who fancied itself Edemis the god of deceit. Edemis heard the flock hiding and began to attack them, claiming they had set foot into their domain and they would be punished. The flock, thinking quickly, decided it would be best to deceive Edemis that they were worshipers and had brought them an offering. This managed to work and allowed the flock to try and deal with Edemis's eye rays. Rester tried to use his Basilisk Tonsils, but unfortunately only affected himself. Sliver of Straw managed to get close enough to blind Edemis with the pepper he was carrying. After that, it was an easy fight, and Edemis was no more. They claimed what loot they could find, and headed back to IS to head back to the encampment.

When they got back to the encampment, they learned the story of how the Rughaed fled. He saw the other Duergar running and decided to join them. Apparently the flock made it all the way back to Forton, in great surprise for the gods.

Danian finished up the watch and was allowed to draw a card from a mysterious deck. The card she drew had the image of a devil on it and erupted into flames moments after. After their evening rest, Sliver of Straw talked with Kregluck about possibly stopping by on the flock's way back up to discuss possible trade routes. Kregluck was interested in hearing more. The flock bid the Slabnose party farewell and began to head deeper into the Underdark.

As the tunnel they were following began to widen, Rester spotted something odd hiding in the stalactites just up ahead. Rester managed to sneak up towards it and saw what looked like a brain with a beak and barbed tentacles. It noticed Rester, let out a screech, and fled away and deeper into the tunnels. Eventually, our flock finally came out of the tunnel and into a massive cavern so large they could not see the ceiling or the opposite side. Cautiously, the flock followed Phil's directions. After a few minutes of walking, someone heard movement off to their left. Dania, using a Darkvision spell, investigated and saw a white spider, skulking about and slowly heading towards them. The cave fisher was no match for our flock and was easily dealt with. Unfortunately, the sound of running footfalls was now headed towards them from the path ahead. It turns out the footfalls were a Duergar hunting party, and they were willing to buy the corpse of the cave fisher from the flock. Committing caveway robbery, or so the flock was told, they sold it for 25gp. The leader of the hunting party offered to take the flock back to their encampment and Rughaed.

Making it to the encampment, Rughaed told the flock the story of how they were forced to flee their homes, as an eye with a gaping maw of teeth and thirty tentacles capped with eyes had made its lair there. After another long rest, the flock was ready to head out and told Felix to stay behind with the Duergar and return to the surface if they were not back in 20 days. Rughaed sent the flock with a guide called Is.

Is guided them to the old Duergar city wall, and told the flock all about how Tides work. The flock flew up to the top of the wall, making sure to take Loribi with them.
