In pursuit of the perfume trail, our adventurers were led to a clearing in the forest. Five fiends were in the clearing, searching for something. [[Dania]], upon seeing these fiends, recalled her lessons about the [[Dawn War]] and the creation of the [[The Rod of Seven Parts|Rod of Law]]. [[Sliver of Straw]], noticing his reflection in a small pool of water below him, began squawking at it, unfortunately drawing the attention of the fiends. Realizing quickly that our adventurers were out of reach within the treetops, the fiends began some sort of magical ritual. Sliver of Straw, seeing an opportunity to try out his new fishing rod, hooked the bigger fiend and began to drag him away. [[Dania]], realizing the fiends were preforming some sort of ritual, sent out a firebolt to try and disrupt the fiends. Rester attempted to throw an oil flask on one of the fiends, but he unfortunately missed hitting the pedestal the fiends were circling. Though the ritual seemed to be partially disrupted, some sort of shimmering magic began to appear above the center pedestal.
Seeing a further opportunity to disrupt the ritual, Sliver of Straw pulled his hooked fiend back towards the circling fiends and into the shimmering magic. Upon hitting the shimmering magic, the big fiend disappeared, causing Sliver of Straw's fishing line to snap. Sliver of Straw celebrates his complete destruction of this fiend. Unfortunately celebrations were pre-mature, as a giant wolf's head with spider's pincers began to emerge from the opening portal that was the shimmering magic. The giant wolf's head launched a glob of sticky glob of web at our nearest adventurer, [[Dania]], wrapping her in webs and constricting her wings causing her to fall to the ground. The giant wolf's head began to reel [[Dania]] towards itself.
Seeing that [[Dania]] was in trouble, [[Rester]] quickly lit a torch and tossed it onto the oil he threw earlier, igniting it and the web pulling [[Dania]].  Sliver of Straw, fearing for Dania, quickly took a massive bird shit into the spyder-fiend's mouth to try ad get its attention. The destraction was just enough for Dania to break free from her webs and move away from the spyder-fiend.
Seeing it lost its prey, the spyder-fiend turned its attention towards Sliver of Straw, and launched a sticky glob of web at him. Sliver of Straw wasn't quick enough and became wrapped in webs, falling to the ground as the spyder-fiend began to reel Sliver of Straw in. Dania, pulling out a favorite spell, cast sleep in an attempt to end the ritual, knocking out two of the fiends. Unfortunately our adventures could not free Sliver of Straw before the spyder-fiend got its hands on him, biting him and poisoning him, bringing him to near death. Seeing an opportunity to gain favor, the little fiend near Sliver of Straw strikes him. Sliver of Straw, fearing for his friends and compatriots if he falls here and now, makes one last push, striking down the fiend that brought him near death, and flies off to safety to help from afar. Rester, seeing that only one fiend was supporting the ritual, ended it's life sending the spyder-fiend back to the [[Abyss]].
Seeing the need for an interrogation, the flock begins to tie up the remaining, living fiends. Sliver, being incredibly familiar with ropes and knots, places the rope gently in one fiends lap while Dania masterfully ties up the other. Rester, not seeing the need to help Dania or Sliver, begins to head to the ruins. Before he can get there however, he realizes that it's probably best to check on Sliver's handy work. Rester discovers Sliver's blunder and ties the fiend up properly. Shortly after the fiends regain consciousness, and Dania puts one back to sleep and begins to interrogate the other. Seeing no need for their skills, Sliver heads over to investigate the ruins with Rester in tow. They find lettering on each plinth, clearly pronounceable but not actually Auran words. Dania, having known Sliver for some time, decided to check on their rope work. She discovers that the fiend had been attempting to cut through the rope with its claw. She decides to hog tie it to a tree nearby.
After a short chat with the fiend, Dania quickly realizes that it can't speak Common, and she begins to cast a spell that will allow her to understand the literal meaning of any writing or spoken words. Once the spell is cast, she begins her interrogation, but quickly realizes that the fiend cannot understand Common as well as speak it. Dania begins to attempt a game of charades with the fiend, but finds that it goes no where as the fiend is incredibly stupid. Seeing as the fiend are of no use, they are put down.
With the fiends dealt with, Dania joins Sliver and Rester at the ruins and begins to read the Auran writing on the plinths. She instantly recognizes these as the names of the seven generals of the Wind Dukes from the Dawn War. Sliver remains unconvinced that these are not just gibberish. Dania also discovers that the literal meaning of the text on the center platform is "Though chaos reigns, let justice be done. Behold! Law is king." Looking around at the ruins, it is clear to the flock that they are incredibly old, but for some reason the center platform seems as though it were new. On the perfectly flat surface, Dania notices a 2 inch divot right in the center.
After finishing their investigation at the ruins, the flock realizes they need to continue their pursuit of the goblins. After an hour of following the perfume scent, they discover the goblins have take over an old abandoned watchtower.
begin to devise a plan, dania attempts to hold slivers beak shut, sliver and rester fly off, sliver sits on one of the towers and issues a request for talks to be opened, rester watches from the skys
after a failed attempt, sliver finds a hole ion the roof of the tower he's on and tosses a torch in, illuminating a lone goblin and igniting some crates
sliver swoops in grabbing the goblin and taking him to a tree top
Xelk the goblin tells sliver that the goblins have been forced from their home in the underdark by the duergar
sliver offers to help these goblins if they stop attacking Forton, Xelk says he'll ask the boss
sliver returns xelk to the ground and xelk rushes in to the main part of the outpost, gathering some goblins and buckets to put out the fire
after the fire is dealt with, xelk heads in to talk with the boss about the groups offer
fearing a double cross, dania disguises self to look like a goblin and goes in after xelk to listen at the door
dania hears the boss, xelk, and the newly one-legged goblin called phil discussing this offer
phil is against getting their help because of his lost leg, but xelk is convinced they are trustworthy
boss tells phil to fuck off, and agrees to meet with the aarakocra, after phil has left boss tells one of the other goblins in the room to "deal" with phil
dania drops her disguise after xelk has left and enters the room with the boss, begins negotiations
xelk heads out and calls to sliver sayin that he can come and speak to the boss
sliver lands, startling some of the other goblins outside, and begins talking with sliver, rester lands not long after
dania mentions to the boss that the group is looking for the rod of seven parts, boss mentions they have a rod that could be what the group is looking for, sends one of his lackeys to get it
sliver is lead in, rester stays outside to keep watch
sliver walks in on the boss and dania right as dania is being shown the rod, sliver asks to investigate
sliver doesn't think it a part of the rod of seven parts, dania takes it and begins to cast identify while sliver discusses more on the duergar matter
dania learns that this item is an immovable rod, presses the button and demonstrates it to everyone
boss offers the immovable rod as a show of good faith, and offers the group more if they succeed on helping the goblins retake their home
boss lets the group look at the other items the goblins have to show that there is more, somehow another object is offered if the group deals with phil, the group decides to take a hat of disguise

In pursuit of the perfume trail, our adventurers were led to a clearing in the forest. Five fiends were in the clearing, searching for something.
