Age of Legends, a great war between Law and Chaos<br />
roots of the conflict shrouded in the mists of antiquity<br />
warfare raged on several worlds, even dozens by some accounts<br />
Guardians of Law, the [[Wind Dukes of Aaqa]], an already ancient empire<br />
champion of Chaos, only known as the [[Queen of Chaos]].<br />
neither side could gain the advantage and the war ground on<br />
The tide began to turn when QoC appointed a new general, [[Miska the Wolf-Spider]]<br />
With defeat looming over the Wind Dukes, a council was formed<br />
The most powerful champions of law withdrew from the war, leaving their best, the Captains of Law, to resist Miska<br />
The seven champions combined their power and forged a weapon that slay Miska and strike fear into the minions of Chaos<br />
A tapered black rod, not quite as tall as a man was created<br />
With the Rod completed, the seven champions rejoined the conflict at the battle of Pesh, on the world of Oerth<br />
the two armies clashed on a vast, volcanic plane<br />
the Captains of Law drove a wedge into the ranks of Chaos and managed to separate Miska from his troops<br />
Miska stood alone, facing the Rod bearer and a single comrade<br />
the comrade sacrificed themselves in a selfless attack, allowing the rod bearer to drive the rod into Miska<br />
Miska's foul blood covered and penetrated the rod<br />
as the chaos within Miska's blood mingled with the absolute law embbeded with in the rod, the fabric of the multiverse was torn asunder<br />
the rod shattered into seven pieces and Miska was cast through the rift<br />
hordes of Chaos surged to the rift, but the champion gathered the seven pieces of the rod and dove through the rift, sealing it<br />
the sundering of the rod spared Miska's from death, and a portion of him remained within the rod, leaving him crippled<br />
while retreating to the citadel of Chaos, Miska was captured by the Wind Dukes<br />
imprisoning him in a cocoon of pure law and cast him into the depths of Pandemonium where all manner of exiles have hidden<br />
The Wind Duke champion who followed Miska through the rift all but disappeared, most assume they're dead<br />
the seven fragments have been found and lost on a great many worlds<br />
the sundered rod is a powerful tool of Law, but whenever it is assembled the Queen comes hoping to extract Miska's essence so he can escape his prison and lead the armies of chaos once again<br />
the Rod is regarded as a harbinger of doom, as the clash of Law and Chaos inevitably follows it<br />
